The single greatest gift for me is to be able to give to others. I am honored to share my talents to bring joy and offer support through the Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2

Yes, I will be the first to admit that I never expected my pet in Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2 to be an emu. At first I couldn’t understand why I would pick such an unusual pet. After all, they are native to Australia, not America!
Yet, just a few miles from us, Tommy owns several emus that hang out in the field with his horses. I drove by them every day for years on my way to work or to breakfast at the Airport Tiki on Sunday mornings. We would laugh when he would tell us stories about some of the things that the emus would do – including escaping!
It wasn’t until I wrote The Great Easter Bunny Hunt: Dragonlings of Valdier (available for free at http://sesmithfl.com/free-books-reads/) that I realized that the mysterious eggs that Vox and Trelon were trying to hide belonged to a much larger story. LOL. When I was asked to write another story for Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2, I knew I had to continue the story of the eggs. Of course, this meant learning more about emus and my discovery that there really are serendipitous moments in life.
In this case, the more I learned about the emus, the more I discovered they were the perfect pet for my Dragon Lord series. I never knew about the Great Emu War until I did a Google search on them. The moment it came up, I was literally fascinated and devoured everything I could read on them or watch on YouTube.
With a face like this, how could I resist?! I learned that emus are intelligent creatures, protective, and have very large eggs that could easily be mistake for something else to an unsuspecting alien. LOL. I needed a pet that could capture the heart of a dragonling, yet fight beside a warrior. I found that in my mob of emus.
Excerpt from Pearl’s Dragon:
“Three and a half months old and they are already a pain in my backside,” Asim growled.
“You know you love them,” Pearl teased, rubbing the head of one of the emus.
“They love you. They follow you around like that damn chicken of Tina’s follows her. I swear there is something wrong with the creatures on your world,” Asim grumbled.
“Well, I’m not the only one they bonded with,” Pearl chuckled, watching another emu tilt its head to look up at Asim.
