Pets in Space FAQ’s

Thanks for stopping by the official Pets in Space website! We get questions from both readers and authors, so we decided we needed an FAQ page. If you don’t see an answer to YOUR question, scroll down to the bottom and use our “contact us” link.

  1. Why can’t I buy previous Pets in Space anthologies?

Cats, Dogs and Other Worldly Creatures Books acquires what is called a limited rights contract from our authors. What this means is that we can only sell the anthologies for a limited time and then the rights are reverted to the authors. If the authors send us the links to their former Pets in Space stories, we post the links here under the “Stories” link. If you hover your cursor over “Stories,” then you should see a menu drop down letting you easily find past Pets in Space stories (and books by our current anthology authors!). Not every author has chosen to re-release their Pets in Space story at this time.

2. I have a wonderful science fiction romance story with a pet that I’d like to submit for the anthology! Where do I send it?

The Editors of Cats, Dogs and Other Worldly Creatures are unable to accept unsolicited submissions for the Pets in Space anthologies. All submissions are by invitation only.

3. Why isn’t there a print edition available for this year’s anthology?

The ability to create a print edition depends on page count. Our anthologies are so packed with great stories, that they don’t fit into a readable print edition (the font would have to be so small you’d need a magnifying glass to read it!).
